More than “Youtube Views” and “iTune Sales”

It’s easy to lose site of why God may have called/gifted you to edify and spread the Gospel thru music.  And I’m EXTREMELY humbled to be one of those he has graciously chosen.  But I’ll admit, here lately I’ve felt overlooked on a “National” level.  I’ve seen a lot of Urban Gospel artist getting national exposure, charting on iTunes, and Touring endlessly.  GREAT for genre and sincerely happy for them, but secretly I wonder…”When’s my turn?”…”When my album drops, IS anybody gonna care?”…”If my album debuts at #200,001 can my ego take that?” (Just keeping it 100).lol  Nobody wants to give their all doing something and get little in return.  And YES, I know we are storing up Heavenly rewards…BUT would you keep working at your job if they only paid you ONCE…at your retirement?!? Haha I digress.  What if God doesn’t have a national platform in my/your future?  What if the few people who buy my/your album are the only ones he wanted us to reach?  Can we say…OK…And keep it moving?  Anywho, I released a new Music Video yesterday for a song called “Prodigal Son”.  Great song…even better Video.  No one cared. Haha!!  I got great feedback on it, just didn’t have the impact/response I had hoped for being how great I thought everything turned out.  Needless to say, I had to do some soul searching and check myself to see if my motives were in the right place.  Then this morning I saw a comment that a friend posted on my Facebook page.  Below is what she wrote after viewing the video.  Sharing it with you all in hopes that it might encourage you like it encouraged me.  God bless!
